Mizzou's Egnew Will Showcase Talent in Senior Bowl

Mobile, AL - The 2012 Senior Bowl Committee selected Missouri Tight End Michael Egnew to show off his skills on Saturday, January 28 in Mobile, Alabama. With 50 catches for 523 yards and three touchdowns in 2011, the first-team All-Big 12 tight end is currently training for the NFL Combine in Arizona. Egnew headed to Mobile last Saturday and enjoyed a bowl banquet next to the USS Alabama Battleship.

Showcasing the best talent in college football, the Senior Bowl brings scouts and coaches from every professional team to meet with the players. Egnew said he met with NFL staff this past Sunday.

“It's an awesome opportunity to come play with other skilled guys and be with the best in the game,” described Egnew about the experience. Egnew is the 57th Missouri Tiger to compete in the Senior Bowl and the fourth tight end, including NFL Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow and current Jacksonville Jaguar Martin Rucker. ESPN NFL Draft Analyst Todd McShay has Egnew as the fifth tight end expected to be taken in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Checking in at 6-5, 251 pounds, Egnew will practice four times before Saturday's game. Among Egnew's coaches are Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Leslie Frazier and Offensive Coordinator Bill Musgrave. You can catch Egnew wearing #82 for the North Team at 3:00 (CST) on the NFL Network this Saturday.
