Tigers in the NFL

Missouri Tigers represented five teams in the NFL on Sunday and Monday.


Jefferson City, Missouri Defensive End Justin Smith totaled four tackles for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday evening against the Atlanta Falcons.  The former Mizzou standout is in his ninth season in the NFL.


First round draft pick and former Mizzou Defensive Lineman Ziggy Hood added to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ victory Sunday over the Detroit Lions. Hood recorded his first tackle in an NFL regular season game.



In his seventh season in the NFL, former Mizzou Wide Receiver Justin Gage had one reception for seven yards on Sunday for the Tennessee Titans. He has 164 yards and 15 receptions in the 2009 season.


On NFL Monday Night Football, New York Jets Wide Receiver Brad Smith had a 19-yard reception which led to the Jets' first touchdown in the game. Smith was a four-year starter at quarterback for the Missouri Tigers.
