Alden Becomes President

University of Missouri Athletic Director Mike Alden is the President of the Division 1A Athletic Directors’ Association.

“This is a great honor, and something I feel is a positive reflection of the University of Missouri as a whole, and all of the great work and achievements that are taking place here across the board,” said Alden.

Alden is in his 12th year of leading the charge for Tiger Athletics, and has overseen a transformation of the department into one of the top comprehensive programs in the nation.  Athletically, Mizzou recorded its most successful season ever in 2008-09, with a record-high finish in the Learfield Sports Director’s Cup Standings, as well as seeing its football, men’s basketball, soccer and softball teams all win Big 12 Conference titles during the year.  Academically, Mizzou has routinely led the Big 12 in graduation and Academic Progress Rates, in addition to providing a strong presence in the Columbia community with countless outreach initiatives involving student-athletes, coaches and staff members.
